Get the Net Drill

Can be a station, used as a warmup, or a variety of ways
Transcript

Great drill to teach angling to players.

  • Position the net in the crease. 1 puck for two players.

  • Player 1 will either dump the puck into the opponent corner or their own corner with the goal of capturing the puck, carrying it around the net, and then escaping with the puck out of the zone and across the blueline

  • Players will have to develop their defensive skills such as stick checks, angling, and gap control.

  • Even on changes of possession, the player with the puck must skate around the net before trying to skate out of the zone with the puck
