We stress with our teams the importance of being quick on transition and decision on zone entry.
Here is a great clip from the New England Wolves EHL Premier teams 1/6/2024 victory over 1st place Adirondack. Wolves won 10-3.
Watch the video and share with your teams the importance of structure on the regroup.
Once the puck moves D to D, the strong side wing opens up, engaging the opposing defenseman, and becomes an option for his defenseman. The center (in the middle lane on this play) swings low and presents a good target for the strongside wing through neutral ice.
On Zone Entry, the center attacks the middle, pushing back the opposing defenseman, and then kicks it out the the flank, before keeping his feet moving on middle drive.
Great finish.
