In video 1 you’ll see a 1 on 1 sequence in which the attacking player is using a pattern with the puck to attack the triangle of the defender. In these sequences, the coach will demonstrate and relay which pattern he wants to use and then alter the pattern to make it more challenging. Hell use:
Toe Drag
Toe Drag to under the stick
Under the stick backhand to forehand and again
Weight shifts and much more
In video 2 you’ll see a simple corner or loose puck escape drill with active back pressure. This is a scenario most players are involved with in nearly every shift, and using deception, weight shifts, and accelerating with the puck out of the escape makes the chances of the player keeping the puck much more likely.
Incorporate these in your practices, and enjoy!
